WHO WE ARE

ALABE - ASSOCIAÇÃO DOS LABORATÓRIOS DE ENOLOGIA is a not-for-profit association that was established by deed on 5 June  1996.

 

Main goals:

1) To encourage the furthering of knowledge on testing methods in oenology and related fields;

2) To encourage the study and to coordinate and motivate activities and analytical techniques of general interest related to oenology;

3) To promote technical cooperation between oenology laboratories and other organisations with the aim of cultivating and harmonising testing methods and their implementation.

 

In light of its drive and the interesting nature of its initiatives, ALABE already has quite a number of members from the private and public sectors, including wine producers both large and small, universities and public institutions. Main actions:

1) The periodic organisation of seminars, discussion sessions and training actions whose topics concern quality in oenology laboratories.
Interlaboratory circuits:ALABE organises two interlaboratory circuits for physical-chemical analysis and sensory analysis:

2)Circuitos interlaboratoriais: a ALABE organiza dois circuitos interlaboratoriais de análise físico-química e sensorial:

2a) CIVP-ALABE, for classical FTIR physical-chemical analysis and methods on still wine, fortified wine and wine distillate; and ,

2b) SENSORIAL-ALABE, for the maintenance, improvement and training of tasters’ sensory potential, and observation of performance.

 

ALABE wants to attract a large number of economic agents to its membership, especially those whose importance in the wine production sector gives them an active voice in defining the best strategies to adopt.It is with the intention of broadening its list of members that ALABE keeps  in touch with the biggest and most representative economic agents in the wine production sector, showing them that it is in their interest to join ALABE  (www.alabe.pt/pt/geral/adesao_alabe.php).
